The Project Involved Bay Extension Works at 220KV Voltage Level for Integration of a 200 MW Power Project at the GUVNL Substation, Faredi Village. The Key Challenges Included Execution within a Live, Operational Substation, Strict Adherence to GUVNL Safety and Technical Standards, Coordination for Shutdowns, and Precise Integration of New Bay Equipment with the Existing Protection, Control, and SCADA Systems. Ensuring Uninterrupted Grid Operation while Completing the Extension Works within Defined Timelines was Critical.

A Detailed Execution Plan was Developed Covering Engineering Review, Material Supply, Erection, and Commissioning Activities. The Scope Included Supply and Installation of 220KV Bay Equipment such as Circuit Breakers, Isolators, CTs, PTs, Lightning Arresters, Support Structures, Control & Relay Panels, and Associated Cabling. All Installation Activities were carried out in Accordance with GUVNL, CEA, IS, and IEC Standards. Comprehensive Testing and Pre-Commissioning were Performed, including Primary and Secondary Injection Tests, Functional and Interlock Checks, Relay Testing, and Final Synchronization with the Existing Substation Systems in Coordination with GUVNL Authorities.

The 220KV Bay Extension was Successfully Commissioned, Enabling Reliable Evacuation and Grid Connectivity for the 200 MW Project. The Works were Completed Safely, within the Approved Schedule, and Without Disruption to Ongoing Substation Operations. The Extension Ensured High System Reliability, Operational Flexibility, and Long-Term Performance, Fully Compliant with Utility and Regulatory Requirements.
