Project Value

Kuvergadh, Gujarat.

Location

The Project Involved the Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning (SITC) of Khijadiya Traction Substation (TSS) fed from the GETCO Substation, Including Erection of a 66KV Feeder Bay at GETCO SS and Laying of Railway TSS Power Cables at Both Ends, Along with Installation and Integration of ABT Metering Systems. Key Challenges included Coordination with GETCO and Indian Railways, Execution of Works Within Operational Substation Environments, Adherence to Stringent Safety and Statutory Requirements, and Ensuring Precise Synchronization of Protection, Metering, and Control Systems for Reliable Traction Power Supply.

A Detailed Execution Plan was Developed Covering Design Coordination, Material Supply, and Substation Erection Activities. The Scope Included Erection of 66KV Feeder Bay Equipment such as Circuit Breakers, Isolators, CTs, PTs, Protection and Control Panels, and Associated Structures at the GETCO Substation. High-Voltage Railway TSS Cables were Installed, Jointed, Terminated, and Tested at Both Ends using Approved Methodologies. ABT Meters were Installed, Configured, and Integrated with the Metering and Protection Systems as per Utility and Railway Specifications. Comprehensive Testing and Pre-Commissioning Activities—Including IR, HV, Functional, and Interlock tests—were carried out prior to Final Charging.

The Khijadiya TSS was Successfully Commissioned, Delivering a Stable and Reliable 66KV Power Feed from GETCO to the Railway Traction System. The Project Ensured Accurate Energy Accounting through ABT Metering, Seamless Coordination between Utility and Railway Systems, and Full Compliance with Technical and Safety Standards. The Successful Execution Enhanced Traction Power Reliability and Operational Efficiency for the Railway Network.
